George Michael has fled the UK after being arrested for drug possession.
The ‘Faith’ singer left his £5 million mansion with partner Kenny Goss carrying six suitcases before heading to London Luton Airport last night (23.09.08).
It is believed the 45-year-old star is on his way to his favourite retreat in the South of France, but George’s publicist could not confirm his destination, saying: ‘We don’t know where he is going.’
An onlooker said: ‘They looked like they were going away for some time judging by all the luggage they were carrying.’
George – who was famously arrested for engaging in a lewd act in a Los Angeles public toilet in 1998 – was found in possession of crack cocaine and marijuana on Friday last week (19.09.08) after a public toilet attendant tipped off police. But officers decided to let him off with a warning after he ‘showed remorse’ and said further charges would ruin his career.
He later pleaded to his fans for forgiveness, saying in a statement: “I want to apologise to my fans for screwing up again, and to promise them I’ll sort myself out. And to say sorry to everybody else, just for boring them.”
Meanwhile, singer Boy George – who has also battled drug addiction – has expressed his sympathy with the star.
He said: ‘I’m sober now and don’t drink or take drugs, and I can see that it’s chaotic and miserable.
‘If I was going to give him any advice I would say he he’s very lucky to do what he does and get paid for it. ‘He needs to get a perspective and get away from drugs and get clean.’ (from: www.music-news.com)

The ‘Mean Girls’ actress – who is set to release her third album in November – is a huge fan of the musical star, whose latest single ‘Let It Rock’ featuring Lil Wayne was released earlier this year, and thinks a collaboration would be a successful venture.
She wrote on her MySpace blog: ‘Here’s a song that I’m kind of into right now. My sister Aliana loves it, and we were playing it at 7.30am in my dressing room – I heard that the singer wrote the song himself, so props to him for that, maybe we can do something together… enough said – hope everyone enjoys it

Lindsay also revealed she is not looking forward to leaving hit US TV show ‘Ugly Betty’, on which she recently filmed a cameo role.
She added: ‘I’ve only got two days left of my shoot on Ugly Betty – I am quite sad to have to leave the wonderful cast and crew behind. It’s always sad to leave people that you get close to. It’s been such a delight to be a part of this show!’ (www.music-news.com)
